Where it
started.

SCS Roofing and Concrete installed a concrete foundation for a planned enclosed patio in Hammond, Louisiana. The entire patio slab slopes toward a center drain. Proper drainage was imperative because the space was intended to be enclosed. The project began with lawn beside an existing covered patio.

underway.

Before the pour, the prepared area had perimeter forms, steel reinforcement and the center drain rough-in in place. SCS installed the concrete foundation and the connecting walkway beside the home.

A closer look at the work.

Plan for drainage before the pour

The center drain rough-in is visible inside the reinforcing grid. This was the collection point for the patio slab’s inward slope.

The completed foundation

The finished concrete extends the area beside the existing covered patio and connects to the walkway along the home. This case study documents the foundation stage of the planned enclosure. The patio foundation was installed with the entire surface sloped toward the center drain.
